Tahiti Blue
This painting was based from a picture I saw of a spot in Tahiti that is not well known. I really liked it because of the angle and the reef showing through the water. I couldn't resist painting it because of the amazing blue scale throughout the picture.
The perspective on this is to make you feel as though you were swimming in the ocean looking into the wave before it pitches over you. The size of this painting is pretty big, 48" X 48" which makes it a little more dramatic.
Sold.

Lanikai for Peter and Jason
Lanikai, I have many memories of playing on the beach here when I was little kid. Countless days of paddling out to the Mokulua islands (pictured) to surf and hang out with friends. The place is magical although it's becoming more and more crowded with tourism.
I painted this scene with the idea of there being a solid East swell hitting and the sky looking like the calm before the storm. This is Acrylic on canvas, 24"X18".
This painting is dedicated to my two long lost friends, Peter Miller and Jason Bogle who left us too early in life. The painting was sold through silent auction and the proceeds went directly to the Peter Miller Foundation.

Palm Tree Series
I decided that I would do a few paintings that would be appealing to the masses but add my own unique flair to them. Keeping to the island style, I thought it would be cool to do a series of palm trees (color and black and white). They're very simplistic but very relaxing to look at. Just wanted to remind people of relaxing times in the islands I guess.
The black and white painting above was donated to a charity and sold through silent auction a while back. I really like this one as you can see a nice breeze moving the tree, making it alive. This is acrylic on canvas.
This colored painting is inspired from a scene in Punalu'u on the North East side of O'ahu. It's a very quiet town. Far away from the busy Honolulu chaos. It's a very relaxing place and that's what I was looking to capture in this painting. Acrylic on Canvas. Still available.
I have several other palm tree paintings that I will be adding here soon.
Aloha,
Benjamin
