Foamy Left

This is just a painting of a nice foamy wave firing through Pipeline on O'ahu's North Shore. Pipeline (and Backdoor) is one of my favorite spots to surf on the North Shore and am always amazed a how much water is moving around even on smaller days. This scene is a wave that just followed a clean up set and left a bunch of foam in the line up. Unfortunately the picture is somewhat white washed but there is a lot of texture within the whitewater as well.

This painting is Acrylic on Canvas and is still available. Please email me if interested.

Home

After a long break from painting, I finally decided to do a piece that is a bit sentimental. This is of Kailua Bay, my home. I learned to surf out here, spent many a day playing in the ocean here since I was a little kid, I have family and friends that have passed on lay at rest out there in the deep blue. I chose to do this in black and white as it resembles a dream vs. a realistic picture. I really enjoyed doing this piece and plan to start doing more pieces now that I've been re-inspired.

Aloha,
Ben

Rincon - The Queen of the Coast

Rincon, my most favorite surf spot in California. Having grown up in Hawai'i, I was always amazed at this wave because we really didn't have anything like it on O'ahu. I remember seeing Tom Curren stylishly destroy these waves and it made me want to surf there so bad. When I finally had a chance to surf there, it was everything I expected it to be. It was like a dream.

This painting looks to capture a mellow Fall afternoon with the sun starting to pierce through the trees as it approaches the golden hour. I chose to paint it in black and white to provide a unique perspective. Acrylic on canvas. Sold.
